O'my! Border Collies

Flapjack is a handsome gold/white split faced boy from our amazing Cupcake (GCH CH O'My! Y'Wanna Piece Of Me RE AX AXJ CAA DCAT SWA SIE SEE SBE RATS DSA CGCA CGCU TKA, NW2) and the talented Buzz (O'My! It's Five O'Clock Somewhere CA OA OAJ DE DMA CGC TKN). Flapjack is one of those dogs who just had to stay. While we hadn’t planned on keeping two puppies from this cross, there was something undeniably special about him; his big smile, bright spirit, and magnetic personality made the decision easy. Outgoing, bubbly, and full of sunshine, Flapjack brings so much joy and laughter to our home. While we weren't sure at the time ‘why’ he was meant to stay, as he has grown he has shown all the makings of a future heart dog, which I didn't think I would be so lucky as to have a second heart dog in this lifetime. 

From a young age, Flapjack has demonstrated a focused, serious, intuitive, and thoughtful working brain. He’s shown a natural love for learning, especially through free-shaping games, and he brings the same drive and enthusiasm whether the reward is a toy or food, seamlessly switching between the two.  He is resilient and hardworking; not afraid to fail, never worried about trying again, and always happy to keep going. He is a very flashy and upbeat worker, and at just 9 months old, he earned his Rally Novice and Advanced titles with near-perfect scores. Multiple judges commented on his joyful attitude and connection in the ring, noting how much he clearly loves his job and is eager to work.

True to his “fish” lineage, Flapjack took to water instantly. At just 8.5 months old, he made his NADD debut, earning his Dock Senior title and a personal best of 19'9" right out of the gate from half dock. We haven’t introduced tracking yet due to his age, but his energy and excitement for the dock have us confident that more is to come in the 2026 season. Outside of work, he’s a sweet, snuggly, affectionate dog with a fantastic natural off switch. He's been a ‘free range' puppy from the start and has always made good choices around the house. He’s never met a stranger—human or canine—and radiates happiness wherever he goes.  We lovingly refer to him as our ‘Sunshine Boy’. He earned his CGC and trick dog titles at 4 months old, and at 11 months old made his AKC Scent Work debut, going 8/9 with placements and earning his first titles! 

Now that he is over a year old, more serious foundations are starting in disc and agility. He is very quick on his feet with a lightning fast return in disc, with good natural tracking and rating ability as well as natural ‘hops’. He has qualified for the 2026 Skyhoundz World Finals in both Time Trial and Spot Landing. In agility he is very much a team player already and has a nice ability to work close as well as maintain good distance without much bubble. We are taking things slow as he is a big boy, but I hope to debut him in agility when he's closer to 2 in the Fall/Winter of 2026. 

Flapjack’s dam, Cupcake, is one of our exceptional Spryte daughters. A true all-arounder, Cake has excelled in multiple venues—finishing both her CH and GCH with back-to-back majors, including wins over Specials. Cupcake is also a talented scent work competitor with incredible drive, focus, and heart in everything she does. 

His sire, Buzz, is from our ReCon/Shine litter and is proving himself as a versatile competitor. Buzz’s sire, MACH2 ReCon, is a nephew to our late MACH Remedy RN MXS MJS NF, a 3× Skyhoundz World Champion (who was the mother of our heart and soul, Hush, who we lost suddenly in Oct. 2025), through his grandmother CH MACH Savannah PT (Remedy’s mother). Buzz’s dam, GCHG CH RACH Shine, is another of our outstanding Spryte daughters, and she is a star in both the conformation ring and performance sports—with multiple Regular and OH Group placements, multiple Royal Canin honors (including AOM in 2021, Select in 2024, and BOB at the 2024 OH Series) and Regional/National placements in dock diving. This was a line breeding on our Spryte, who has been such an asset to our breeding program, and we love seeing what this cross produced.

Flapjack embodies the best of the dogs behind him, and reminds us so much of our late heart dog, Hush. We’re incredibly proud of what Buzz and Cupcake produced in this litter. Watching Flapjack—and his sister, Poptart—grow and begin their journeys in sports is a true joy. We’re so excited about what the future holds for this fun and talented boy.
